HUMMUS AND SEASONED GROUND BEEF APPETIZER
INGREDIENTS:
Hummus: 2 cans drained chick peas, 10 cloves garlic, 1 tsp salt and white pepper, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 2 tbs tahini, 1/2 cup olive oil
Beef: 1 pound ground beef, 1 onion, 6 garlic, 1/2 cup pine nuts, 1/8 cup olive oil, 1 tsp each sumac, cinnamon, oregano, parsley, salt and pepper. 1 cup tomato sauce.
Garnish: 3 scallions, 1 cup cherry tomatoes and 1/2 cup fresh parsley.
Serve with baked and fresh pita.
Sauté the onion, garlic and pine nuts in the oil 5 minutes, add the beef for another 5 minutes, add the spices another 5, then add the tomato sauce and heat thoroughly.
Layer the hummus and drizzle olive oil around the perimeter. Put the meat in the middle. Add the garnish of scallions, tomatoes and parsley.
This is a great appetizer!!!
